KRDO-FM (105.5 FM) is a News/Talk radio station simulcast on KRDO 1240 and based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The format complements KRDO-TV's news broadcasts. It is owned by Optima Communications and operated by the News-Press & Gazette Company of St. Joseph, Missouri under a time brokerage agreement. Throughout the day, KRDO carries syndicated talk show hosts Dave Ramsey, Clark Howard, and Laura Ingraham. ==105.5 History== The station signed on in the early 1970s as KWYD-FM. For the first few years, KWYD-FM broadcast a country music format before flipping to a Christian radio format in 1975, programming a combination of brokered preaching/teaching programs (local and national), Inspirational music, news and information. In 1989, KWYD-FM was sold to Optima Communications which flipped the station to a NAC/Smooth Jazz format as KBZE, using the on-air moniker "The Breeze." On October 31, 2008 the KWYD FM calls where picked up by a radio station in Boise, Idaho which broadcasts a Rhythmic Contemporary format. Two years later, the call letters and format were changed again. It became a country station with the calls KHII, using the on-air handle "K-High." Optima Communications entered into a time brokerage agreement with Pikes Peak Broadcasting Company in 1993. In the fall of 1996 Pikes Peak flipped the station back to a smooth jazz format. This time it was called "Sax 105.5" and adopted the KSKX call letters. The station remained smooth jazz until News Press & Gazette launched its News/Talk Radio format as KRDO-FM in August 2006.
