Kadampuzha
Kadampuzha is a small town and a pilgrimage centre in Malappuram district, Kerala, India situated on the Thrissur-Calicut national highway known for a temple believed to have been consecrated by Adi Shankara . Situated in Marakkara Panchayath, Kadampuzha is 2 km. away from Vettichira on the Thrissur-Calicut national highway. "Kadampuzha" literally means ''the river kada''. There isn't any river in the surrounding areas now. The deity of the temple is goddess Durga and the idol placed in the sanctum sanctorum, below several stairs, is small and always flower covered. Besides thousands of pilgrims coming daily to seek blessings, hundreds of new motor vehicles too come in the temple to seek blessings to ward off mishaps. Though the temple is famous all over the state of Kerala, there is no major festival associated with the temple.
