Kadayanallur is a Municipality town in the Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu of India. The most important commodities such as Handloom clothes, matches, fiber, and mud-pots are being manufactured in the town. As of 2011, the town had a population of 90,360 The name Kadayanallur comes from "Kadaikaaleeswara", the name of the presiding deity of Kadayaleeswarar kovil, a Hindu temple located in Kadayanallur. It is located in the foothills of the Western Ghats near the Courtallam Waterfall and Tenkasi. It is famous for ''saaral'' (drizzling), which occurs yearly from May to August. It is also known for its vast paddy and coconut fields. Most of the last generation of residents were farmers; however, many are now employed in various parts of India and in foreign countries such as the United States Of America, Singapore, and the Persian Gulf. The famous anjaneya temple in southern part of Tamil Nadu is situated here and in suseendhiram. The anjeneya temple situated here is named as 'அருள்மிகு ஸ்ரீ அபயகஸ்த ஆஞ்சநேயர் திருக்கோவில்'. Worshippers came here for five consecutive Saturdays (With fasting :விரதம்). The manthras of 108 times of sri rama jeyam! and Om! Sri ram jeya ram jeya jeya ram! has been written in this temple by the worshippers. This temple is situated at the center of agricultural field.
