Karinkuzhi is bordered by Kankol (north), Alakkad (east), Echilamvayal (south), and Vellur-theru on west. Karinkuzhi is about 4 km north of Payyanur Municipal center. 110 KV Electric Substation and Western India Polymer are the two industrial organizations in this area. Karinkuzhi is primarily an agricultural area and it was selected as one of the ‘Ela’s during the great green revolution. The dam across the Karinkuzhi river helped the growth of agricultural activities. Karinkuzhi once had one of the best and largest play ground in Payyanur area. Till 1970 most of the school and district athletic meets were held here.
