Kaytanhousuja

Kaytanhousuja is an independent band from Savonia, Finland. The band plays rock music in various humorous flavors. Kaytanhousuja was formed in the city of Iisalmi in the year 2000 and it is still active. Kaytanhousuja was one of the first Finnish bands to self-publish their music over the Internet. All of their some 40 songs are freely downloadable. () They include "Tarja", a song about woman named Tarja, and "Kaljaa ainiaan" ("Beer forever"), a tragicomic drinking song that has spread also off-line and that some radio programs play for the humor.
For several years, the band has placed in the music competitions of the Assembly demo party. Laitinen (using the handle ''swallow'') sings the song "Lätkäjätkät vie mun naiset" ("Hockey jocks take all my women", composed by ''Wode'') which placed second in the MP3 music competition in 1999.
The name "Kaytanhousuja" is an umlaut-less version of the Finnish words "käytän housuja", meaning "I wear trousers".
