Kehlani
Kehlani Ashley Parrish〔 (born April 24, 1995 in Alameda, California), better known mononymously as Kehlani is an American singer-songwriter, and is currently signed to Atlantic Records. Kehlani's partnership with Atlantic Records includes a deal to release solo projects through her Tsunami Mob label. ==Early life==
Kehlani's father died shortly after she was born. Her mother was a drug addict and criminal who was wanted by the police. She went to jail soon after Kehlani's birth. They recently tried living together again after her mom was released from a stint in jail, but it didn’t work out, and they became estranged again in April. Kehlani created a song depicting her and her mothers relationship titled The Letter, found in her You Should Be Here mixtape.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/the-juice/6560850/kehlani-you-should-be-here-interview-nick-cannon-chance-the-rapper )〕 Because of her father's passing and her mother's incarceration, Kehlani was raised by her aunt, who took her in when she was 3 months old. She moved out of her aunt's house at 16 years old but became homeless shortly thereafter.〔 She resorted to stealing from places like Walgreens, Walmart, and Lucky's to get food and clothing and would spend nights in "trap houses", having to hide her belongings when strangers walked in. Kehlani and her childhood best friend would also often sing on the streets for money to provide meals for themselves.〔 Her music is heavily influenced by her life experiences as well as the area she grew up in.
