Kemri is a town and a nagar panchayat in Rampur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Kemri was a part of the princely state of the Nawab of Rampur. It became a part of the Indian state when the Rampur state merged with the Indian Nation. Situated between the cities of Rampur and Bilaspur, Kemri holds significant political importance in the region. The Kemri city is divided into 15 wards for which elections are held every 5 years. The Kemri Nagar Panchayat has population of 28,698 of which 14,972 are males while 13,726 are females as per report released by Census India 2011. Due to recent efforts by the local Municipal council for building roads, improving the local infrastructure as well as decent transport links to Delhi, Kemri is fast becoming a vibrant trading town. The main occupation of Kemrians is local business such as Transports, Rice Mills, Mentha oil, Brick etc. There are good numbers of Business Administrator, Engineers, Doctors, Teachers from Kemri as well. There is good education awareness among population and people are putting lot of emphasis to educate their children; boys and girls equally. Some of the students are pursuing education abroad and in good institutions in India. ==Geography== Kemri is located at .
