Kenosis

In Christian theology, ''kenosis'' (Greek: , ''kénōsis'', lit. emptiness) is the 'self-emptying' of one's own will and becoming entirely receptive to God's divine will.
The word (''ekénōsen'') is used in Philippians (2:7 ), "(HREF="http://www.kotoba.ne.jp/word/11/Jesus" TITLE="Jesus">Jesus ) made himself nothing ..." (NIV) or "...() emptied himself..." (NRSV), using the verb form (''kenóō'') "to empty". See also (Strong's G2758 ).
==Etymology and definition==
Etymology is from Greek (''kenóō'') "to empty out". The Liddell–Scott Greek–English Lexicon gives the following simplified definition simplified for the noun:〔(κέν-ωσις , εως ) — A. emptying, depletion, . . . . ; Plato Republic 585b, cf.
