Al Khafif was the ruler of Mansurah in Sindh. He set up the Soomro dynasty which was the Abbasid Caliphate's functionary in Sindh until the Siege of Baghdad (1258). He was sent from "Samarra" by the Abbasid Caliphate and thus became known as ''Khafif Soomera'' in Sindh.
