Kiltan
Kiltan or Kiltān Island is a coral island belonging to the Amindivi Subgroup of islands of the Lakshadweep archipelago in India. It is located 47 km to the northeast of Amini Island and 37 km to the southeast of Chetlat Island. The reef and lagoon are located to the west of the island and the total length of the dry land area is 3.2 km. The basic earning method was fishing and coconut production at earlier. Now the peoples moves to several directions includes Government jobs (Education, Police, Communication, Transportation, Business and IT also), private job opportunities such as Construction (buildings, road), Plumbing, Electrifying etc. The language spoken is Jasari as in other islands. But the peoples don't use its script because its writing was stopped too earlier periods.Kiltan has rich folk cultures and warm hospitality to its tradition.. ==Population== The average population in Kiltan is 3945 as per census 2011. Most people from Kiltan, as in Amini and Kadmat, belonged to Koya, Mali and Melacheri caste.〔R. H.
