Koh e Qaim is a mosque located in Hyderabad, India. It is dedicated to the last of The Twelve Imams of Shia Islam, Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan al-Mahd. == See also == * Shia Islam in India Kohe Qaim is an ordained summit of Imam al Mahdi It was founded in early in the 19th century by Molavi Abbas Ali Sharif from the lineage of Imam Hassan ibn Ali. According to legend, he dreamed of the place, and came to it after much toil. When he was about to climb through the present day entrance, he was confronted by a heavenly being, who appeared as an Arab. The Arab said, "Take off your footwear, for no one has ever stepped on this holy land with their footwear." He followed this instruction, and while taking off his footwear, wondered where the Arab could have appeared from in this wilderness of Hyderabad India. Once barefoot, he was astonished to see no sign of the Arab and the sheep who had been with him. They had vanished as if a mirage. He understood this as a sign of decree of Imam Al Mehdi for the visitors of this summit to submit themselves to the sublime opulence of the viceroy of Allah, and be barefooted whenever they came to the holy mount, Just as Allah had commanded Moses And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa!'') (12. "Verily, I am your Lord! So take off your shoes; you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa.'') (13. "And I have chosen you. So listen to that which will be revealed (to you)'') (14. "Verily, I am Allah! There is no God but Me, so worship Me, and perform Salah for My remembrance.'') (15. "Verily, the Hour is coming—and I am almost hiding it—that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives.'') (16. "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein, but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish.''( Sura Taha 20 vers Quran ) After reaching the summit of the hill barefoot, he heard salutations of Imam el mahdi, a revered supplication that is the first of its kind, and spoken loudly on every first Friday of the Islamic month after the majlis, 25 zul Qa'da and 14th of Sh'ban—after raising a flag of the Imams, with an emblem that reads, "In the name of Allah the Almighty and the most compassionate, for He is the Vigil of Allah, The Viceroy of Allah," in Arabic. An Arabic poem by the cleric Abbas Ali Sharif is read while raising the flag. Following this tradition, all visitors must take off their shoes before they enter.
