Kolnyang is a Payam (court centre or formerly known as koot) within Bor south County, South Sudan. Bor county has five payams Kolnyang, Anyidi, Makuach, Baidit and Jalle. It is the administrative centre of the following communities: Gwalla de Bol, Adol, Abang, Gol, Awan Luol, Nyicak, Nyara, Koro (Malek), Pakoom and Maluaal. Under Kolnyang, there are sub-Payams/Bomas: Chuei keer, Gak, Malek, Pariak, Anyang-lengker etc. Kolnyang is under chieftainship of Mayom Malaak Mayom as the payam head chief. Other chiefs are: Mariar Alier Deng (Longaar), Nyok Alier-mathoot Deng (Lual/Jur), Dot Luol (Maluaal), Marial Maluil (Gol), Aguto-machar (Gol), Deng Mach-thui Bol (Aluel), Guut Ajuong (Anyang/Gaker/Ariarbeek), Madit Areet (Akuei).
