Pattammal have made the place proud. Former Indian cricket board chairman and SPIC founder AC Muthaiya lives here. The neighbourhood is served by Kotturpuram MRTS railway station. It has Abirami-sivagami hall for marriage functions and MAC Spin Cricket foundation Next to it. It has the best badminton court which attracts film personalities like Ajith & Shalini . This court is next to minister Durai murugan's house. Centuries old temples such as Perumal Koil (around 1000 years) and Ponniamman Koil〔http://www.ponniamman.com〕(around 400 years) are situated in Kottur. There are plenty of schools in this area offering excellent education.The most recognized schools are A.M.M. school and Anna Gem .
