Kouloughlis, also spelled Koulouglis, Cologhlis and Qulaughlis (from Ottoman Turkish ''kuloğlu'' "children of servants", ''kul'' "servant" + ''oğlu'' "son of") was a term used during the Ottoman period to designate the creole offspring of usually Turkish men and Arab women.〔.〕〔.〕〔.〕 The phrase comes from the fact that the rulers of the Ottoman Empire conquered much of Arab world and sent Turkish people to Ottoman Algeria, Ottoman Egypt, Ottoman Libya, and Ottoman Tunisia. Unlike the Franco-Algerians (''pieds-noirs'') and the North African Jews, descendants of the Kouloughlis have largely integrated into their local societies after independence. ==See also== *Pied-Noir *Arab-Berber *Turks in Algeria *Turks in Egypt *Turks in Libya *Turks in Tunisia 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Kouloughlis」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
