Kul-kul
Kul-kul is a tower housing a signal drum in the temple architecture of Bali. The drum is used to warn of attack, fire or communicate notice of a communal event. The ''kul-kul'' in Tenganan is beaten 21 times each morning to start the day. The Majapahit architecture of the Menara Kudus Mosque in Java features a similar structure.〔Miksic, John. in Java - Periplus Adventure Guide.
