Kutuvantavida
Kutuvantavida in Malayalam ''/ കുടുവ൯ടവിട /'' is a family name in the Malabar region of Kerala, India.
==History==
In the northern Malabar region of Kerala, people do not usually have a surname. However they put the first letter of their House-name at the end of their name to help identify themselves. While applying for passport, visa or other official document, people in this area use their House-name for their family name. Kutuvantavida is very common in the Nadapuram area of Kozhikode district in Kerala.
During the colonial era of India, Kutuvantavida was known as "Vadakke Kalariparambath" as it is in the north (in Malayalam "vadakk" =North) of Kalariparambath. How the name 'Vadakke Kalariparambath' changed to 'Kutuvantavida' remains as a challenging question among regional historians. However there is clear evidence for 'Kutuvantavida was known' as 'Vadakke Kalariparambath', as even now in all revenue documents, the name is still 'Vadakke Kalaripparambath'.
