Founded in 1972, Laboratoire d'informatique pour la mécanique et les sciences de l'ingénieur (''LIMSI'' - ''Computer Science Laboratory for Mechanics and Engineering Sciences'') is a CNRS laboratory associated with the University of Paris-Sud. LIMSI is located in Orsay (south of Paris) on the campus of the University of Paris-Sud. It is a body of approximately 180 people: tenured researchers and professors, engineers, technicians, administrative staff, and PhD students. The laboratory occupies four buildings of the University of Paris-Sud campus in Orsay (buildings 502bis, 508, building S and 512).
