Laiza Lai Za ((ビルマ語:လိုင်ဇာ)) is a town in the Kachin State, Burma, on the border with China at:. ==History== Lai Za was just a village prior to 1994. It became an important town in Kachin State after Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) made a cease-fire agreement with the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) and moved its capital here from Pajau. The ethnic leaders from different ethnic groups in Burma have attended the important Lai Za Conference in October of 2013 in search of the common grounds among ethnic groups when they planned to meet with the Burmese government for further peace talk and nationwide ceasefire agreement. Currently under the control of the Kachin Independence Organization, the ruling military government is demanding to handover Lai Za and Mai Ja Yang to Military of Burma before the implementation of the new constitution of Burma.〔Military of Burma〕
