thumbnail Langarud ((ペルシア語:لنگرود), also Romanized as Langarūd, Langerūd, and Langarood; also known as Shahr-e Langarūd) is a city in and the capital of Langarud County, Gilan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 65,369, in 18,875 families. Langarud is located on the south coast of the Caspian Sea. The small village Espili, the main location of the film ''Gilaneh'', or ''Gilane'' (directed by Rakhshan Bani Etemad and Mohsen Abdolvahhab), is situated in the South of Langerood. One of the most important tourist attractions of Langarud is Chamkhaleh coasts. It provides guests with jockeying and yachting and beach landscape. Javadian Company is located in Langarud. It belongs to Mr. Javadian and is the first donut producing company that met the quality standards of Iranian Standard Organization. The old city is divided in two parts by Langeroud river. When NADER Shah was king of Iran, Langeroud had one of most important dockyards in the north of Iran as Mr.Rabino says.
