It is the sub-divisional headquarters of the Laxmangarh sub-division in Sikar district. It is also the Tehsil headquarters of the Laxmangarh Tehsil. Laxmangarh is also Panchayat samiti headquarters of the Laxmangarh Panchayat samiti in the district.
