Othmer, who in 1912 printed their book "Lehrgang der nordchinesischen Umgangssprache" (Course in the North Chinese Colloquial Language) in Qingdao () whilst it was a German colony in 1912 through the "Deutsch-Chinesische Druckerei und Verlagsanstalt."
