After World War I the company started exporting, especially to South America. After World War II, in the 1960s Libeco expanded further. ''Lagae Linens'' was established in 1858 as a manufacturer of fine cambric and handkerchiefs. The company took over Tissages de Gryze in Meulebeke and expanded their weaving production. Despite its partial destruction in 1940 the company succeeded in recovering from the damage and expanded its production capacity. Libeco and Lagae merged on 2 June 1997 and created Libeco·Lagae.
