Llanrug
Llanrug (or Llanfihangel-yn-y-grug) is a large village in Gwynedd, north-west Wales. It lies about 4 miles to the east of Caernarfon, 7 miles south of Bangor and 3 miles northwest of Llanberis. It is the largest populated village in the Arfon area of Gwynedd, Wales. The old name term of the village was initially Llanfihangel-y-Rug, derived from Eglwys Sant Mihangel situated about half a mile west of the village. It has a Welsh-speaking community of 81% and a population of 2,911.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Welsh language skills and community population 2011 )〕 The busy A4086 road from Llanberis Pass to Caernarfon runs through the village. ==Leisure== The village offers many public footpaths all of which offer extensive views of Snowdonia including The Carneddau, Glyderau and the north-western flank of Snowdon Massif. The River Seiont which begins from Llanberis and flows westwards about 1 mile north of the village centre before flowing out to Caernarfon Bay is a popular angling river. The river situates a fish hatchery just outside of the village run by the local Seiont, Gwyrfai and Llyfni fishing associations. The village includes an outdoor centre called Arete that provide adventure activities and outdoor courses, situated to the south-east of the village.
