''Lobothallia'' is a genus of lichens in the Megasporaceae family with foliose thalli that become crustose areolate in the center with age, and grow on calcareous to siliceous rocks.〔Field Guide to California Lichens, Stephen Sharnoff, Yale University Press, 2014, ISBN 978-0-300-19500-2〕 The crustose part of the body may keep its lower cortex,〔 though not always.〔Lichen Flora of the Greater Sonoran Desert Region.
