Lolene
Lolene Everett (born 12 March 1985), professionally known simply as Lolene, is a British recording artist, songwriter, record producer and performer from Bristol, England. ==Early life== Lolene was raised by her mother and describes herself as "independent by default" for this reason. While in Bristol, Lolene began singing backing vocals for Martina Topley-Bird〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Martina Topley-Bird – Quixotic, Discogs )〕 (vocalist for Tricky) and also collaborated with local drum and bass pioneer Roni Size. On relocating to London, Lolene signed a development deal with BMG Records to front their latest girl group. She wrote the group's material, but left shortly after to pursue a solo career and focus on her songwriting. Lolene created her alter ego, Miss Foo Foo, while involved in London's club scene. She describes her created character as "the spoilt, extravert, heightened part of my existence." Lolene moved to Los Angeles and signed to Beluga Heights/Sony ATV after being discovered by record producer J.R. Rotem (Rihanna, Britney Spears) and his manager Zach Katz. Initially hired as a writer, Lolene began developing her personal sound with the help of Rotem and other producers.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title='Awkward pop' singer signs deal – Bristol Evening Post )〕
