M13486 (MIL-C-13486 or MIL-DTL-13486) is a frequently used MIL-SPEC wire and a heavy duty vehicle and aircraft electrical cable. The MIL-DTL-13486 military specification was last revised in May 2006 and was originally created by the Department of Defense. The specification typically covers special purpose electrical cables that are heavy-duty for low-tension circuits. The wire may have either one or two conductors and be either shielded or unshielded. M13486 wire has gained popularity in recent years due to its widespread use for all types of military ground vehicles, including tanks, trailers, trucks, and jeeps.
