Maeshafn is a very small village〔http://www.british-towns.net/wales/denbighshire/maeshafn〕 in Denbighshire, Wales. It is located near the border with Flintshire. There are no shops in the village, but there is a pub called the Miners Arms.〔http://www.welshicons.org.uk/html/maeshafn.php〕 The A494 road is 1 mile (1.6 km) away. Maeshafn and the villages nearby are popular with tourists who enjoy walking in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; there are some walks nearby up Loggerheads and Moel Famau, both within a 2-mile (3.2 km) distance. The Offa's Dyke Path is also nearby. The nearest town to Maeshafn is Mold which is 3 miles (4.83 km) away. Maeshafn was originally a lead mining village called Maes y safn - the field of the mouth of the dog - presumably due to the shape of the mine entrance. () Maeshafn is overlooked by Moel Findeg hill,〔http://www.moelfindeg.co.uk/〕 site of historical lead mining and part of which is a designated local nature reserve. Maeshafn also has an extremely competitive cricket team〔http://maeshafncc.co.uk/〕 who proudly tour Stratford-upon-Avon each year. In 1996, the village won an award for the best kept village in Denbighshire.〔http://maeshafnchapel.co.uk/Village.html〕 ==References== 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Maeshafn」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
