Marciszów

Marciszów ((ドイツ語:Merzdorf)) is a village in Kamienna Góra County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Central Statistical Office (GUS) - TERYT (National Register of Territorial Land Apportionment Journal) )〕 It is the seat of the administrative district (gmina) called Gmina Marciszów. It lies approximately north-west of Kamienna Góra and south-west of the regional capital Wrocław.
Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. At the end of World War II (1944 - 45) in textile factory Kramsta-Methner Jewish women from various concentration camps (Terezin, Auschwitz, Gross-Rosen etc.) were imprisoned and used for forced labor. After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles.
