Mardpetakan
Mardpetakan, was a historical region of Armenia, stretching from the principality of Anjewaci in Corduene south of Lake Van to Siunik, north of Araxes river.〔Richard G. Hovannisian, 2000, Armenian Van/Vaspurakan, p. 19-22, University of Michigan, Mazda Publishers, ISBN 1568591306, 9781568591308〕 Since the 4th century the area was under Amatuni rulers who in the 9th century were reduced to a vassalage of the Artsrunis.

It included the following districts: Mardastan (land of the Mards), Bun Mardastan ("main" land of the Mards), Chuashrot, Tornavan, Arjishakovit, Khulanovit, Alanrot, Krchunik, Nakhchawan, Garni and principality of Anjaxijor. There were also located the towns of Marakan (Median place), and Maravan (Median town).〔Nina G. Garsoïan, Jean-Pierre Mahé, Robert W. Thomson, 1997, From Byzantium to Iran: Armenian studies in honour of Nina G. Garsoïan, p. 127-130, University of Michigan, Scholars Press〕
