Medair is an international non-governmental organization NGO of humanitarian aid with a stated mission, "to relieve suffering in some of the world’s most remote and devastated places."〔Medair. Medair has been active in 31 countries, working in some of the most remote, hard-to-reach places in the world.〔 It is independent of any political, economic, or social authority. Recent programs have been run in Albania, Angola, Armenia, Bangladesh, Chad, Chechnya, India, Indonesia, Ingushetia, Iraq, Iran, Kenya, Kosovo, Liberia, Mozambique, Ossetia, Rwanda, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Pakistan, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
