Medininagar
Medininagar (Daltonganj) is a city in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It is the headquarters of Palamu division and Palamu district, as well as the subdivision and block of the same name. Medininagar (Daltonganj) city is named after Colonel Edward Tuite Dalton (1815–1880), an anthropologist and the District commissioner of Chota Nagpur in 1861, during the British Raj who established this city after clearing Bijra Bagan.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=History of Palamu )〕 The name of the city was changed to Medininagar, after the king Medini Rai. Some noted places in Daltonganj are the Redma Bridge, the Chhahmuhan chowk Ranka Raj complex, Panchmuhan chowk, Mahendra arcade (shopping mall), The Raymond Shop, chandra residency, Mohan picture palace and Kanni Ram chowk, Gayatri mandir Sudna etc.
