Meerjapeta, also rendered as Meer Japeta, is a village in the Tarlupadu mandal of the Prakasam district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The village is 15 kilometres from Markapur. The Gundlakamma River passes near the village. In early days it had the name of "Bangaru Palle". The main source of income for the people in this area is agriculture. The nearest railway stations are Tarlupadu 4km, Markapur 15 km and Cumbum 12 km.
