Meung-sur-Loire ((:mœ̃ syʁ lwaʁ)) is a commune in the Loiret department in north-central France. It was the site of the Battle of Meung-sur-Loire in 1429. ==Geography== Meung-sur-Loire lies 15 km to the west of Orleans on the north bank of the River Loire at the confluence with the River Mauves. The Mauves, actually three rivers, have their source in the water table of the productive agricultural region of the Beauce.
