Mirokhan is one of the oldest taluka / tahsil (a district administration or revenue subdivision in India / Pakistan) situated in Qambar Shahdadkot District (Previously Larkana District) of Sindh province of Pakistan. It was established in 1915 and was considered to be the largest tehsil by area before t the division of the Larkana district into Larkana and Qambar Shahdadkot districts and its own division into Mirokhan and Sijawal tehsils. Most people of the town vote to Pakistan Peoples Party. It's about 55 km away from the Indus valley's most famous site Mohenjo-daro, 27 km from Larkana city. Mirokhan is famous for shrine of a great islamic scholar and saint, Hazrat Mian Hamidullah Huzuri Rehmatullah alleh (Huzuri Badshah) and his grandson Mian Ahmed Bakhsh Tunio, who has significant number of mureeds (followers) spread all over the country. It is connected by road directly to Qambar, Shahdadkot, Ratodero and Larkana towns. The town includes a degree college, a commercial college / poly-technique institute, a higher secondary school for girls and primary schools for boys & girls separately among other private sector schools. It is also famous for various Rice Mills mainly owned by Gopang cast. It is inhabited mainly by Tunio, Bhatti, Gopang, Chandio, Laghari and Abro casts. There are many villages in its surroundings but New Tharo Wadho is the largest populated village in Mirokhan Tehsil. Arzi Bhutto Square is considered to be its business centre which is featured by Al-Mussavir Clinic. ==Geography== Mirokhan is situated at Latitude 27,7667 (2746'0.120"N) and Longitude 68,1000 (685'60.000"E).
