Monkey3 is a rock band from Switzerland. ==History== Native to Lausanne, Monkey3 was created in 2001, initially as a gathering of musicians in jam sessions of stoner rock influence. Eventually, they became a permanent group comprising: Picasso on bass, Walter on drums, Boris with dB on guitar and keyboards. 2003 is the year of the first album Monkey3 released from the Belgian label Buzzville Records. Rooting itself in stoner rock, the group began to tour Europe. They released their second album ''39Laps'' in 2006 (Buzzville). Hailed by critics, this album allowed the group more exposure and opened the doors to festivals such as Roadburn (Holland). This tour is included on the DVD "Live At Aventicum", recorded during the delivery of the Swiss festival Rock Oz'Arènes. In 2009, their cover album EP ''Undercover'' included guest singers on two tracks. John Garcia (Kyuss) sings recovery Watching You (Kiss) and Tony Jelecovitch (Transport League) Kashmir (Led Zeppelin). ''Beyond The Black Sky'', their fourth album, was released in 2011 on the German label Stickman Records. Monkey3 have performed at festivals such as Hellfest (France) and itinerant Up In Smoke Vol.4 across Europe.
