Moses (given name)
Moses or Moshe is a male given name, after the biblical figure Moses.
According to the Torah, the name "Moses" comes from the Hebrew verb, meaning "to pull/draw out" (water ), and the infant Moses was given this name by Pharaoh's daughter after rescuing him from the Nile (). Some scholars have suggested that the name was derived from the Egyptian word for "son" rather than from Hebrew.
