Moodabidri (also called Mudbidri, Moodbiri and Bedra), is a town in Dakshina Kannada district. It lies 34 km northeast of the district headquarters, Mangalore city, in Karnataka, India.〔(【引用サイトリンク】accessdate=11 June 2015 )〕 Because of widely grown bamboo in ancient days, this place got named as ''Moodabidri''. ''Moodabidri'' comes from two words: ''Moodu'' and ''Bidiru''.
