Musapur


Musapur is an agricultural village (pind) in the Nawanshahr district (Now known as 'Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar District') of Punjab in India.
Baba Sundar Das an influential parcharak (preacher) of Sikhism from Guru Nanak Dev Ji's time hailed from this village. A gurdwara stands at the site of his historic samaadh today. This Gurdwara has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and the opening ceremony was held in February 2008.
Gurdwara Nath Ji an influential parcharak (preacher) of Sikhism is also situated in musapur.
It is one village that have Sikh Temples on all four sides.

The main surname of the residents in this village is Kandola. There are also a number of people with the surnames Pooni, Gill, Joshi, Atwal, Bhambra, Chopra, Rall and Verma residing here. The surname Seyan is also believed to originate from this village.
Another sub caste 'Ladher'/'Banga'/'Mahey'/'North'/'Heer'/'Seniaray'/'Ghai'/'Guru' is also main in the village in Ravidasia(caste ) community, as well as every other castes. The strength of SC community is more than 80% out of the total population of the village.There have five Gurudwaras named Gurudwara Baba Sunder Das Ji, Gurdwara Baba Nath Ji, Gurudwara Guru Ravidas Ji, Gurdwara Baba Shahidan, Gurdwara Durgiana Sahib, "Shiv Mandir" and a "Mata Mandir" where worshipped by all Hindus community, 'Balmik Mandir' for the Balmik community, situated at the residential area of the village. All the citizen of the village is celebrate all the functions, gurpurves, Shri Krishan Janamashtmi, Shivratri or other devotional programes from spiritual mind like as brother and sisters.
Famous Punjabi song writer ''Amarjit Musapuria'' And Famous Kabaddi Player "Sunny Kandola" also belongs to this village
Other Famous person of this village is, Mrs. Baljit Kaur (Ex-Sarpanch), Sr. Surinder Pal Singh Kandola,Sr. Jaspal Singh Kandola (Ex.Chairman Of Coprorative Bank And Ex.Sarpanch) Sr. Jagjit Singh (Ex- DEO, Chairman- Verka Milk Jal.), Sh. Nirmal Dass North (Distt Manager Land Mortgage Bank), Mr. Satnam Deepak (ਬੰਗਾ), Sr. Sohan Singh Pooni(Lambardar), Mr. Baldev Musapuri (Ex. Circulation Manager & Head Clerk'' Ajit News Paper''), Sr. Jaspal Singh Kandola (Ex.Sarpanch), Sr.Surinder Pal Singh Kandola (Ex.Sarpanch).
Most of the residents have settled abroad, mainly US and UK, and those who live here get regular response from their NRI relatives containing suggestions to protect and upgrade the village to make it higher in living standards. However, the village is not safe from drugs these days and in need of a strict commander who follows the rules according to law and wash the durty views from he hearts of the young generation.
Musapur is nearby to cities of Banga and Nawanshahr, and is near to the villages of Rasoolpur, Manguwal, Kahma,Kariha, Bhangalan, Lodhi Pur, Chahal Khurd and Karnana. Village khatkar Kalan birthplace of Saheed Bhagat Singh, is also a nearby village.
