Myanglung
Myanglung ((ネパール語:म्याङलुङ)) is a municipality and district headquarters of Terhathum District of Kosi Zone in eastern Nepal. The municipality is situated at an elevation of about 1500 metres above sea level.〔(Districts of Nepal ), Statoids〕 Myanglung was converted into a municipality from village development committee on 18 May 2014, merging the existing Myanglung, Piple, Jirikhimti, Ambung, Sabla and Tamphula village development committees.〔(72 new municipalities announced ), My Republica〕〔(Govt announces 72 new municipalities ), ''The Kathmandu Post''〕 According to the census of (BS.2068) the total population of Myanglung is 19,659 including five VDCs.〔National Census 2011〕 ==People== A mixed settlement is found however Limbus and Newars are the major inhabitants of this region. People have their own mother languages and culture. The National language is often commonly spoken and understood. Although, Newars are regarded as ethnic or indigenous people, however their numbers are found less in the recent observation while comparing to other castes. This can be due to the immigration of people from different areas of districts to be settled in Myanglung.
