Natoo
Natu (alternate spelling Natoo) is a family name found among Chitpavan brahmins. There are several clans of the extended Natu family. One such clan calls Achare their ancestral home-town. There are two major divisions of the Natu clan. Saradar (Knight/squire) Natu's are descendants of Balajipant Natu, a squire in the court of Peshwa Bajirao II who has the distinction of unfurling the Union Jack atop Shaniwar Wada upon the fall of Bajirao II in 1818 after Third Anglo-Maratha battle.
