Nediyakala
Nediyakala is the family name of descendants of a Catholic family brought to Ettumanoor It happened years ago when the priests of the temple realized some problems and as per the suggested solutions, the priest advised the committee to bring and help settle a Christian family to Ettumanoor. Their search ended in Chemplavu, near Cherpunkal, Kottayam district. The family which belonged to one of the original families baptized by Apostle St. Thomas who brought Christianity to India (which is later called Syro-Malabar Church) The descendants of that original family called "Chemplavanmar" with different family names like Pulingapallil, Puthenpurayil, Nediyakalayil, Chemplavil, etc. Tradition is that, the out of the vast land gifted to this original Christian family from Chemplave, there were areas here flower plants were grown which is called Pushpakathukala. The land given to these families included a vast landscape from Kovilpadam in the east to Manaykapaadam in the west. The family produced some faithful Christians including monsignor, priests, deacons, nuns, doctors, teachers, professors, business men in and out of country. In the third millennium, the members of the families, ie. Chemplavil, Puthenpurayil, Nediyakala, Pushpakathukala, pulingapally, lives in all continents. especially, the Middle east, Australian, UK, Africa, Europe, America and Canada. In 2010, we formed a family association called "Chemplavil Kudumbayogam.
