NetSPI
NetSPI is an information security penetration testing and vulnerability assessment management advisory firm. The company specializes in manual penetration testing of software applications and networked assets to identify and reduce security risks like data theft, or the disruption of application or network services. ==History ==
NetSPI is a private company that was founded in 2001 by Deke George, chief executive officer, and Seth Peter, chief technology officer. Both had worked together at OnTrack Data Recovery, now part of Kroll, where they were co-founders of the computer forensics business. While at OnTrack, they worked on computer fraud and computer evidence cases. The staff includes security consultants specializing in regulatory compliance and vulnerability management issues, manual penetration testers (i.e., ethical hackers), service project managers, custom test-tools developers,and business-unit managers. Over the years, the company has come to focus primarily on in-depth manual penetration testing of their enterprise clients' most critical software assets, and on strategic-level vulnerability assessment and management advisory services, and less on what have today become commodity consulting services built around, for example, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
