NewRail is a railway research centre based at Newcastle University〔(Newcastle University )(NewRail )〕 in the United Kingdom. The aim of the research centre is to develop and maintain the highest international standards of excellence in rail-related research.〔(About NewRail )〕 Research takes place in the four areas of: Rail Freight and Logistics,〔Intermodal freight transport〕 Rail Vehicles, Rail Infrastructure and Rail Systems. NewRail was founded in 2004 and receives UK and international research funding.
