The population was 11,684 at the 2000 census. The 2010 census population for Niceville, Florida is 12,749.〔()〕

==History==
When mail service began on July 21, 1868, the city was known as Boggy,〔Law #16 The Acts and Resolutions Adopted by the Legislature of Florida〕 and on November 5, 1910, the name was officially changed to Niceville.〔Post Office Records at Baker Block Museum〕 The name Niceville was selected by the postmaster's daughter. In 1915, Niceville became part of newly formed Okaloosa County after previously being in Walton County.〔General Laws of Florida, Regular Session 1915 Chapter 6937 No. 131〕
