Nuneham Courtenay

Nuneham Courtenay is a village and civil parish about southeast of Oxford. The parish is bounded to the west by the River Thames and on other sides by field boundaries. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 200.
==Archaeology==
Just southeast of Lower Farm, about northwest of the present Nuneham Courtenay village, is the site of a former Romano-British pottery kiln. The kiln was about west of the Roman road that linked the Roman towns at Dorchester on Thames and Alchester. It began production about AD 100, produced a wide range of fine wares in the second century and increased its product range in the third century. It then declined, and in about the middle of the fourth century it ceased production. The remains or the kiln were discovered in 1991 during excavations to lay a new water main for Thames Water.
