Nyangumarta The Nyangumarta People are a nation of Australian Aborigines from the northwestern coast of Western Australia.〔Horton, D. 1994, The Encyclopaedia of Aboriginal Australia, Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, Canberra.〕 Their country extends over approximately 40,000 square kilometres from the Great Sandy Desert through to Eighty Mile Beach, including Pardoo Station, Wallal Station and Anna Plains Station. Their traditional ownership of this country was recognised in 2009 by the Federal Court of Australia.〔Hunter v State of Western Australia () FCA 654 (11 June 2009)〕 They maintain a unique language (known as Nyangumarta language), and a vibrant law and culture.
