Midland-Odessa Combined Statistical Area

The Midland–Odessa Combined Statistical Area is a Combined Statistical Area (CSA) located in West Texas. The CSA encompasses the Midland Metropolitan Statistical Area (Martin County, and Midland County), and Odessa Metropolitan Statistical Area (Ector County). As of the 2010 U.S. Census, the CSA has a population of 278,801.
In the past, the cities of Midland and Odessa experienced a rivalry of bitter competition and political intrigue. Since the early 1990s, the nature of the rivalry has changed into one of friendly competition and economic cooperation. The Midland–Odessa area today is marketed as "Two Cities, no Limits."
