Kickboxing Mania, based in Italy and broadcast internationally, is considered the "father" of Oktagon. Oktagon was created in 1996 by promoter Carlo Blasi and a couple of friends. At the time of Oktagon's founding, Carlo Blasi was the president of the federation FENASCO, and he is currently the president of Fight1, a leading organization in the field of "Fight sports". "Fight Sports" brought attention to athletes like Giorgio Petrosyan and his brother, Armen Petrosyan. Oktagon, initially called KickBoxingmania, is held under the auspices of the Sports Federation Fight1 and was broadcast from Italy One for twenty years. Paul Biotti was among the protagonists of the events and later became Marketing and Television Director of Oktagon.
