Olyreae
Olyreae are a tribe of soft-stemmed grasses related to bamboo, contrasting with typical bamboo, which has a woody or lignified stem. Olyreae originate in the Neotropics around the Amazon Basin; there is also one species from Africa, ''Olyra latifolia'' and one from New Guinea, ''Buergersiochloa''. ''Olyra'' species are found in forest and native grazing pastures of Brazil. == References ==
