Ombo is the largest island in the Ryfylke region on the southwest coast of Norway, and is the second largest island in Rogaland. Ombo is divided between the municipalities Hjelmeland and Finnøy located north of Randøy. The highest point is Bandåsen, 515 m. Around Ombo is Ombofjorden to the east, Gardssundfjorden to the south, Gapafjorden to the west, and Jelsafjorden to the north. After the road at Ombo was built, a distinctive rock formation was visible from the new road. The rock formation looks like a face, and was originally named Adam. Among the local residents, this is also called "Ombo-gubben". Ombo has several villages, including Jørstadvåg, Tuftene, Skipavik, Skaar, Vestersjø Atlatveit and Eidssund. To get to Ombo, one must take a ferry or speedboat to Eidssund or Skipavik. There is a ferry to Eidssund from Judaberg, Halsnøy, Helgøy, Nord-Hidle, Nedstrand, Hebnes, Foldøy and Jelsa.
